The path of senses embodies a new generation of hiking paths. Designed just for you, you will experience undisturbed views, be guided along a varied route with paths marked for safe hiking and a network of paths perfectly signposted. The distinctive logo and original Rothaarsteig items of forest furniture make this path
unique.
The wonder of nature
Enjoy nature on one of the numerous paths leading off farm and forest tracks. You'll marvel at the numerous viewpoints in the rolling landscapes of the different
regions. Take some time for the abundance of natural, cultural and historical features - you will find information about them on the boards along the walk.
Just simply swing along,
if you choose on the suspension bridge spanning 40 m across a valley gorge in Kühhude. One of several experiences to familiarise hikers with the diversity of this region of unspoiled nature.
Trying them all out is a must
Forest loungers, forest sofas, benches, tea-time oases and forest swings do more than invite you to take a break – they turn the landscape and nature into a very special experience.
You'll find your way safely
on the well-marked paths with our easy-to-remember logo. The main path from Brilon to Dillenburg is marked with a white R lying down on a red background. The access and exit paths are marked with a black R lying down on a yellow background.
It's unlikely that you'll get lost
on the clearly marked network of trails with signposts wherever the hiking trails cross to inform hikers about the location, about destinations close by and those further away, indicating distances, etc.
Experience something quite different
with "no walk-over" and "Stone Age human" – two of a total of eleven forest sculptures linking the two cultural regions of Sauerland and Wittgenstein.
Those special encounters
Perhaps you will meet up with one of the six Rothaarsteig rangers on your hike. Unmistakable feature: a ranger's hat. They will gladly answer your questions and give you tips.
Come in and enjoy
Our Rothaarsteig quality facilities stand for regional cuisine and lots of hiking service. They delight in spoiling you. Watch out for the logo!
